Nagasaki Wesleyan University (a.k.a. Chinzei Gakuin University) recently had the pleasure of hosting esteemed visitors from The University of Baguio, Mr. and Mrs. Bautista. Mr. Christian Bautista is a member of the board of directors. Their visit not only strengthened the bonds between our two institutions but also brought back fond memories and stories of a shared past.
During their stay, Mr. and Mrs. Bautista embarked on a journey through Nagasaki’s scenic mountains, paying homage to shrines nestled amidst nature’s beauty. Additionally, they visited the poignant Atomic Bomb Museum, a testament to the resilience and spirit of the Nagasaki community.
For Mrs. Bautista, this trip held a special significance as she reminisced about her time as a pioneering exchange student at Nagasaki Wesleyan University exactly four decades ago. Walking through familiar halls and revisiting cherished memories, she found herself transported back to a transformative chapter of her life.
The reunion served as a delightful opportunity to reflect on the enduring connections forged through education and cultural exchange. It underscored the importance of fostering relationships that transcend geographical boundaries and stand the test of time.
As we bid farewell to our esteemed guests, we do so with hearts full of gratitude for the memories shared and the bonds strengthened. Nagasaki Wesleyan University looks forward to continued collaboration and friendship with The University of Baguio, united in our commitment to educational excellence and global understanding.
