On Friday, April 11, ten international students from the Omura Satellite Campus English course took part in a walking tour to Kumano Shrine, accompanied by a professor from the Department of International Studies at Nagasaki Wesleyan University.
Blessed with clear skies and warm spring weather, the group enjoyed a relaxed and memorable excursion. The walk not only offered a chance to explore the cultural and spiritual heritage of the local area but also served as a meaningful opportunity for conversation and connection among students and faculty.
As we made our way through the peaceful paths of Isahaya, students shared stories, asked questions, and practiced English in a natural and supportive setting. The tour helped strengthen friendships and build a stronger sense of community between international students and the university.
In addition to visiting Kumano Shrine, participants also took time to appreciate the beauty of our campus and its scenic surroundings. Located in the heart of Isahaya, our university provides easy access to local history, nature, and cultural landmarks—an ideal setting for meaningful learning experiences outside the classroom.
We look forward to more events like this in the future, where language learning and cultural exchange come to life in the real world.
