On August 8 and August 9 four students and two professors from the Department of Foreign Languages guided international ambassadors attending the Nagasaki peace assembly. Ambassadors represented the nations of Tonga, Uzbekistan, Turkey, and El Salvador. Students and staff were able to participate in this notable international event which promotes cross-cultural understanding and peace. Ambassadors visiting Nagasaki were part of a tour of the Nagasaki Atomic Bomb Memorial Museum and participated in the flower tribute on August 8 and a peace ceremony on August 9 commemorating the tragic bombing of Nagasaki. Joining in this tour as local guides has helped further bridge CGU and the international community as well as raise awareness of the significant history of Nagasaki.
