Students in the Department of International Studies were asked to share their thoughts about the university. The second question presented to the students is:
“What is your favorite place on campus?”
Student responses are as follows:
My favorite place in university is student lounge. I have three reasons why I chose the student lounge as my favorite place.
The first reason is that in library, we have to quiet and can’t watch movies. On the other hand, in student lounge, we are able to read book, watch favorite movie and talk with friends. I like talking with my friend, so I spend my breaks from classes relaxing in the student lounge.
The second reason is that there is air conditioning and heating, so you are able to beat the heat or cool. Therefore, we are able to stay comfortably all seasons.
Without worrying about hot and cold, we are able to do working.
The third reason is that in the student lounge of Nagasaki Wesleyan University, a vending machine with sweets has been installed so that more student are able to enjoy the lounge, and a kitchen truck comes to the courtyard every week, so you are able to enjoy the food that is unique to Nagasaki Wesleyan University. One of the charm points is that it is able to be done in variety of ways.
For this reason, my favorite place in university is student lounge.

My favorite place is the lounge. I always go there when I don’t have classes. The good thing about the lounge is that you can relax with your friends. There are big desks and lots of chairs, so you can gather with lots of friends and talk a lot. There are also vending machines for drinks, and recently they’ve installed a vending machine for snacks. If you get hungry, you can buy some snacks there and eat them. There are various types of sweets, so I think everyone will enjoy it. In addition, there are desks with partitions like in a library, so people who want to concentrate on their assignments or value their time alone can use them. There are various students, such as those who listen to music and value their time alone, and those who value their time with friends. I think that is the charm of the lounge. And another advantage of the lounge is that there are no barriers between grades. It is a place that all students can use freely, so many international students use it. In addition to the grade barriers, there are many students from other departments, so it is a wonderful place where you can interact with many people.

My favorite place on campus is the Peace Chapel.
The Peace Chapel is used to conduct many events including the “peace hour” gatherings, meetings, and weddings in any season. I was really surprised to hear about the weddings held there, I had thought this event wouldn’t be conducted in the university’s facility. I have often seen this chapel since I entered university so many times, and I feel it has a very holy and mild atmosphere similar to the Kaminoshima’s one especially.
Nagasaki City has many Christian churches in several areas, we can see a lot of them at the time we go to school or working place. So, I was interested in the Peace Chapel’s inside. When the peace hour was conducted there are a lot of people in the building, but I haven’t felt narrowness since the roof is higher than any classroom. So, the time is passing quickly to stay in the chapel every time. Plus the presenter’s voices can be echoing rapidly to the chapel’s structure and height.
Although I just attend currently the peace hour on Tuesday, I think this chapel will be able to use the facility like the counseling room someday. Its large room layout and quiet atmosphere makes me feel calm gradually.
For those reasons, my favorite place on campus is the Peace Chapel.

One of my favorite places on campus is the library. The library is a place for those who seek knowledge. To get into the library, you need a student ID card. The first time I entered the library, I was surprised. The library has many study spaces, from quiet corners for individuals to collaborative areas equipped with whiteboards and computers. I like sitting by the glass doors, which has a panoramic view of the surrounding campus, inspiring me to read. I feel more comfortable here. The quiet space here is very suitable for reading stories, books or working on the computer. I often go to the library to read Japanese and English books. Sometimes I go to the library to do homework. When I feel sleepy, I play games for a while to relax or listen to music while reading. Sometimes because I am too sleepy, I will fall asleep for a while. Occasionally, the library organizes some events, such as talks and sharing sessions of seniors, organizing small games, turning this place into a dynamic space for communication, learning, exchanging ideas together when doing homework or working in groups. The library is not only a place to borrow books but also a place to develop and connect intellectually. Therefore, when there is no class, the first place I think of is the library.

My favorite place on campus is the courtyard. It’s a peaceful area surrounded by nature, where I can relax and recharge. In spring, the courtyard is especially beautiful because it’s filled with cherry blossoms. The pink petals falling gently in the breeze create a magical atmosphere. It’s the perfect spot to take a break from studying and enjoy the beauty of nature.
Next to the courtyard, there’s also a cozy lounge where students can sit and chat with friends. It’s convenient to have a quiet space nearby to rest and connect with others. In autumn, the courtyard becomes even more special with the scent of osmanthus flowers filling the air. The sweet fragrance always lifts my mood and makes the campus feel even more welcoming.
This combination of natural beauty and a relaxing environment makes the courtyard my favorite place. No matter the season, it’s a spot that always brings me peace and happiness. I feel lucky to have such a wonderful place right on campus.

There are a lot of places I like on campus. For example, the Lounge, classrooms, and school yard. Especially, my favorite is the cafeteria. Many students always use it, so I think it is a favorite place for them too. After my morning classes, I always go to the cafeteria to buy something to eat. Sometimes, I stay there to talk with my friends or do my assignments and prepare for group presentations with them. I feel that it is a very comfortable place to study. When I can’t focus on studying in the classroom or at home, changing the environment and studying in the cafeteria helps me concentrate better. So, I often use there to study. I think that it is also a relaxing place. When I have time before my next class, I sometimes take a nap there and I can refresh. Also, I am able to focus on my next class. Moreover, It is a good place to interact with other students (not friends). I like spending time alone, but I also enjoy talking with friends and having a great time together.
For these reasons, the cafeteria is an important place for me. I hope everyone uses the cafeteria more and enjoys it too!

My favorite place is Nishiyama Hall. I don’t often take classes in that classroom. However, I have the opportunity to go there for lectures and events where many people gather. I like the place because it is a space like a cultural hall, where you can experience an extraordinary experience that is not found in a regular classroom.
The most fun event held there was Nepal Day. At that event, all the international students from Nepal performed plays, songs, and musical instruments. At the end of the day, they served Nepalese food to us. In addition, there will be a welcome party for new students and games including orientation. Since many people gather at this location, it is a great opportunity to talk with people from other departments and different grades. I also like that the chairs are fluffy and comfortable!
If you have a chance to come visit Chinzei Gakuin University, please visit Nishiyama Hall.

My favorite place is the Language Information Center.
There are three reasons why I think so.
First, it is very quiet. This is because we can get on with things and concentrate here.
The second is that we can use the computers to do research and study. If I have a problem or don’t understand something when I’m studying, I can look it up right away on the computer. This is something very useful. I feel I need it.
The third reason is that the facilities are well equipped and always clean, which is also my favorite reason.
The staff keeps the place spotless and makes sure we are not inconvenienced. I appreciate it very much. We can also keep the place clean by not leaving any garbage behind and by disposing of our own garbage properly. I feel that we should all beep this in mind.
For these three reasons, the Language Information Center is my favorite place.

My favorite place on the campus of Chinzei Gakuin University is the chapel. It is because I feel relaxed when I visit and stay there. We do not forgive talking loudly or using our phones with noisy sounds in this place. Due to that, it is often kept quiet there. Also, if it is sunny, the sunlight comes through the window there. There are a lot of windows there, so when the sunlight comes in, the building becomes very bright even without turning on the room light. Thanks to the perfect level of quiet and the sunlight, I can always stay there feeling calm. Since it is a relaxing space for me, I sometimes sit in the chair there and talk with my friends at an appropriate volume, and at times, I even take a nap in that chair.
Moreover, I like the lounge on campus as well. The reason is that I can do various things there. For instance, I often eat lunch, talk with my friends during the break between classes, and do my assignments there. There are many chairs and desks, so I always see students, like me, spending their free time.
I hope these places that I like will continue to remain at this university.

My favorite place on campus at Chinzei Gakuin University (Nagasaki Wesleyan University) is the library. It’s not just a quiet place to study, but also a peaceful sanctuary where I can escape from the hustle and bustle of daily life. The library has a modern design with large windows that let in plenty of natural light, making it feel open and welcoming. I particularly enjoy sitting near the windows, where I can look out at the greenery surrounding the campus. The atmosphere inside is calm, and the variety of resources available for research and study makes it a convenient and inspiring place for academic work.
In addition to its academic functions, the library also hosts events and exhibitions that encourage learning beyond the classroom. The staff is friendly and always ready to assist with any inquiries, which adds to the welcoming environment. During breaks, I sometimes take a short walk around the surrounding area, where there are quiet paths that provide a great opportunity to reflect and relax. Overall, the library at Chinzei Gakuin University offers a perfect balance of tranquility, resources, and inspiration, making it my favorite place on campus.

My favorite place on campus is the school cafeteria. This is because everyone can eat and talk together.

My favourite place on the campus of Chinzei Gakuin University is the library. The library’s calm and peaceful atmosphere makes it an ideal spot for concentrating on my studies. I particularly enjoy the view from the large windows, which offer a serene glimpse of the campus greenery and surroundings. Taking a moment to look outside between study sessions helps me refresh my mind, recharge, and regain focus for the tasks ahead.
The library also boasts a vast and diverse collection of books and resources, which has allowed me to delve deeper into subjects that spark my curiosity and passion. Whether working on assignments, preparing for exams, or simply exploring new topics, I always find inspiration and valuable knowledge there. The quiet and focused environment fosters not only productivity but also a sense of comfort and motivation. For me, the library is more than just a place to study—it is a cornerstone of my academic journey and personal development, as well as a space where I feel supported and encouraged to grow.

My favorite place on campus is Peace chapel. In free time such as when I do not have any classes, I often stay there with my friends or alone. As you hear the word “Chapel”, you might feel spiritual and disgust. In fact, when I knew the existence of chapel in this campus, I have had like those emotions. I was thinking that it is used for prey or weddings. Probably, those are the true way we use chapel, but other using way is allowed in this campus. As I mentioned earlier, I often use chapel to pass the time. The chapel has a lot of benches and some tables so you can talk, study or even sleep if you want. Actually, I could get along with my classmates by visiting chapel and chatting with them in my freshman year. One of the most memorable moments for me was when I gathered with several classmates in there to review together on the day of the Korean language test. I believe the time spent by those who are good at it teaching those who are not so good at it has helped us to deepen our understanding of each other. The chapel which is my favorite place on campus is the best place to relax alone or deepen friendship.

I prefer the student lounge. I know there are a lot of good places in my university. Although, I could find nice places while I led a school life. I favor going to the student lounge. We can enjoy the conversation, taking rest, and eating at there at break time. It was usually relaxing, and I felt refreshed. Moreover, We have got desks which is more can concentrate on their study. We can use that space as a club activity space as well. Actually, I am joining the acoustic guitar circle and I using that place. In addition, there are few vending machines. We can buy anything we want because there are many types of vending machines such as pops or snacks or something. I think this one has been helpful for the student. When I was a high school student, we also had vending machines but there were fewer types of staff compared to my university’s. Furthermore, I literally like the atmosphere of the student lounge. The reason why I like is there are more or less some students all the time. I can make friends and have conversations. I believe this space shows the “connections”. That is why I prefer the student lounge.
